Graduate Registration Calendar: Fall 2018

September 3, 2018 Last day to register for Fall 2018 online and without a late fee.
September 3, 2018 Labor Day - University offices closed.
September 4, 2018 FIRST DAY OF CLASSES
  One week in-person Late Registration period begins.
  Two week drop/add period begins.
September 10, 2018 Last day of Late Registration period.
  New registrations after this date require Dean's approval.
September 17, 2018 Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade if not withdrawing from all courses.
  Last day to add a course to an existing registration.
  Last day to drop all classes and receive 100% refund.
October 1, 2018 Deadline for filing for an October dated diploma.
October 22, 2018 Last day to withdraw from a course with a "W" grade in the following schools:
  • Mason Gross School of the Arts
  • School of Graduate Studies
  • Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology
  • School of Pharmacy
TBD Spring 2019 Online Schedule of Classes will be available.
October 28, 2018 Spring 2019 Registration begins at 10:00pm.
October 29, 2018 Last day to withdraw from a course with a "W" grade in the following school:
  • Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy
  • School of Management and Labor Relations
November 12, 2018 Non-matriculated students in the Graduate School of Education may register for Spring   2019.
November 20, 2018 Classes follow a Thursday Schedule.
November 21, 2018 Classes follow a Friday Schedule.
November 22-23 Thanksgiving Recess.
November 26, 2018 Last day to withdraw from a course with a "W" grade in the following schools:
  • Graduate School of Education
  • School of Social Work
  • School of Communication and Information
December 12, 2018 LAST DAY OF CLASSES
December 14-21 Final Exam Period
December 15, 2018 Grades may viewed at https://sis.rutgers.edu/tags/ as they are submitted.
December 24, 2018 University offices are closed until January 2, 2019
January 4, 2019 Grade submission deadline for Fall term courses.
January 6, 2019 Deadline for filing for a January dated diploma.
Credit hour prefixes Matriculated graduate students taking undergraduate courses must indicate a prefix when registering (drop down menu) to identify the course's relevance in the student's degree program.

Non matriculated students do not enter a prefix. Other prefixes may apply to any level course in accordance with the school's policy. Credit prefixes are defined as:

Credit Prefixes:

E: Course does not count in average or toward degree
G: 300-400 level Undergraduate Course-taken for credit toward graduate degree currently sought (not applicable for non matriculated students.
N: Not for credit - S (satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory) Grade -- No final exam (audit)
P: Course taken on PASS/NO CREDIT basis -- Permitted only by student's school policy and school offering course. See School catalog or consult dean's office
